Mapping Literature — An Experiment
This is a proof-of-concept, a work-in-progress, an excessively-hyphenated-beast.
The project was to automate the downloading, parsing, and mapping of books from Project Gutenberg.
You'll notice that the chapters are inexpertly divided and that certain locations in the text are questionably chosen. The bustling cities of "leeward," "rogues," and "Abraham Lincoln" are memorable if not entirely accurate. Such are the vagaries of automation.
As the project continues, I'll be to improve the UI, set up manual editing, adjust the sorting algorithm, and improve scalability.
